CBR-101 CHAFF COLLECTOR

Sold Out

The Chaff Collector holds the husk-like skin that surrounds the coffee beans as they dry and fall off during roasting. If left in with the roasting beans chaff would impart an unpleasant taste to the finished coffee. Our large Chaff collector is a great addition to the CBR-101.

Exhaust OD: 2 7/8"

Although this took 5 months due to staff changes, I'm happy with the results the new part works well

It Works and a Precautionary tale

Make sure you deep clean your chaff collector fairly often - at least a couple times a year.

Over a period of years, mine accumulated a considerable amount of oils and caught fire a few weeks ago. The cool down cycle created a blast of flame about 2 feet long!

I pulled the plug and then used some water to put out the rest of the sputtering flame.

Folks, this is another good reason NOT to point the collector output at a wall or other surface that can catch fire.

I purchased a new collector to make sure that the roaster could breath out and it's working fine now.

The roaster is a CHAMP. It's been reliably roasting my daily coffee for years.

Great roaster

Probably had this roaster for 8 or 9 years. Best product ever had. Replacement parts readily available.

Leaks

Smoke leaks around the seams. I emailed Gene Cafe, but they haven't responded. I guess I'll have to use 3M hi-temp tape to seal it.

Gene Cafe and chaff collector reveiw

I have been using my Gene Cafe for several years. I started using it as my main roaster until the business. needed a larger roaster. I now use it as my sample roaster or the small batch roaster for specific clients. The original chaff collector retainer have broken off through a long usage and the top would not stay on properly. I am satisfied with the product.
