As a regular user of Gene Cafe CBR-101, I was heartbroken when the roasting temperature refused to climb to normal. Web search pointed out the characteristics of heater failure, so I took the chance of saving my roaster by replacing the heater. Youtube instruction by Gene Cafe was a big help, and the replacement was direct and straight-forward. I'm very happy to have my reliable roaster back in service.

I ordered the 120v heater assembly and received the 100v. I notified them both through their website (on 1/31/26) and via email (on 2/4/26) and still have not received a response. I’m writing this on the evening of 2/10/2026 after being prompted to submit a response from their auto-generated email. I’ll revise this review when the issue is corrected. Until then, here is 1 star for sending me the incorrect part that I can’t use and not responding to two attempts to contact you. My roaster is inoperable in the meantime.

Heater arrived on time and the on line video was easy to follow. The genecafe works great again.

After buying a cheaper roaster twice, I purchased from Gene Cafe because I read that when the heater went out, which they all eventually do, you could buy the part and fix it yourself. After years of faithful service, I needed the part, got it, and am back in business without having to buy the complete unit again.
