Heater arrived on time and the on line video was easy to follow. The genecafe works great again.

After buying a cheaper roaster twice, I purchased from Gene Cafe because I read that when the heater went out, which they all eventually do, you could buy the part and fix it yourself. After years of faithful service, I needed the part, got it, and am back in business without having to buy the complete unit again.

My unit was taking longer and longer to complete a roast, so I assumed the heater assembly was failing. Before installing the new heater assembly, I cleaned the inside screen of my chaff collector. I discovered that the inside screen - Not the one on top - was almost completely blocked by a build-up of chaff and oil. That fix completely remedied my problem and the roast time for the particular beans I was using dropped for 18.6 minutes to less than 15 minutes.

I don't mind having a spare heater assembly. The ability to buy replacements for every part that can fail is a big plus for this machine.
