Compatibility problem

This is not really a review but a report. To be fair we are warned that the current temp sensor (blue wire) is not compatible with the old style main board. I thought, "what the heck, it's just a temp sensitive resistor". Well, for what ever reason, the roaster never gets hot enough to reach 1st crack. I guess if I want it to work I will have to spring for the new main board.

A Necessary New Temp. Sensor

After installing the newer Main PCB in my older Gene Cafe roaster, I was able to replace my older Inlet Temp. Sensor with this new one. FINALLY, I'm back to the 14 - 15 minute roasts, which came to an abrupt end when the former Inlet Temp Sensor failed. Wish I knew if I did something to contribute to the older Inlet Temp. Sensor failing... In any event, I'm pretty sure I'll limit all future roast batches to no more than 6.5 ounces of green beans.

Just what I needed

See my review of the main circuit board for details. My 2007 Gene Cafe needed the main circuit board plus the updated temperature sensor to prevent temperature stalling. It worked.
