CBR-101 GEARED MOTOR ASSEMBLY
$ 39.00
Replacement Geared Motor Assembly for the CBR-101.
I received the motor in three day. We were able to replace the old motor and now we are roasting again. Very satisfied!
Motor died on Saturday I ordered on line the same day. Gene was back up on Thursday morning!! Fast ship a d Great YouTube instructions!
The motor started to slow down, and when I wrote to Dylan at Gene Cafe, he recommended installing a new motor. It's a very tight fit and I had to use my wife's fingers to get to the screws holding it in. Other than that, it's relatively easy to replace and the new motor works wonderfully. The roaster is about 10 years old, and I've replaced a number of various parts, thanks to Gene Cafe's online videos.
The roast chamber started to slow down at one particular point in it's rotation during a roast. After a couple of roasts, it stopped entirely.
I purchased the new motor, installed it in about 30 minutes and it solved the problem completely. No complaints.
This is what I love about this roaster. I have had it for over 7 years and have been able to cheaply replace anything that has broken. I don't think I'll ever need to buy another roaster.
After ~8 years of owning my CBR-101 roaster, the unit began having difficulty with the rotation process, usually at the end of the roast or cooling cycle. This would mean that I sometimes needed to assist it carefully by hand to make some rotations. This could obviously be a fire hazard so I ordered several parts to complete a partial rebuild. At Dylan's advise, I did find that the two left side bearings had fallen off but replacing these did not fix the issue completely. I replaced the motor assembly and this immediately solved my issue. Now the roaster works like new again.
I have easily roasted >500lbs of coffee through this over the years so this was bound to happen eventually. I'm very appreciative of Dylan and Gene Cafe for making these home repairs easy, as I always repair instead of replacing when possible. I'd highly recommend this part if you're experiencing similar issues. On a side note, this repair made my roasts more consistent again. Thanks!
