Little motor tried

I know the motor is part of the triad required to get my 101 back in action. About 800-900 pounds of green beans roasted in this 101 I expect to have to replace parts with this kind of usage.

Once installed, I test-roasted 1/2 pound. Like a new machine, the roast was done in 13 minutes, cooled in 12 more...perfectly. I am happy that I bought a Gene Café years ago...3rd time I have replaced worn parts.

Got me up and roasting again

I was very distressed when my roaster stopped rotating. I feared all was lost and I would be buying a new roaster. Little did I know that GeneCafe has such great support and so many of the parts can be easily replaced to get you up a roasting again. After an email to customer support they suggested replacing the reed sensor first and then the motor. So that is what I did. The reed sensor did not solve the problem but the motor did. It was not challenging to replace and I am roasting again. Just an FYI - My roaster is used at least weekly to roast 3-6 240 gm batches and is 2 1/2 years old. Thanks GeneCafe!!
