CBR-101 GEARED MOTOR ASSEMBLY
$ 39.00
Replacement Geared Motor Assembly for the CBR-101.
After ~8 years of owning my CBR-101 roaster, the unit began having difficulty with the rotation process, usually at the end of the roast or cooling cycle. This would mean that I sometimes needed to assist it carefully by hand to make some rotations. This could obviously be a fire hazard so I ordered several parts to complete a partial rebuild. At Dylan's advise, I did find that the two left side bearings had fallen off but replacing these did not fix the issue completely. I replaced the motor assembly and this immediately solved my issue. Now the roaster works like new again.
I have easily roasted >500lbs of coffee through this over the years so this was bound to happen eventually. I'm very appreciative of Dylan and Gene Cafe for making these home repairs easy, as I always repair instead of replacing when possible. I'd highly recommend this part if you're experiencing similar issues. On a side note, this repair made my roasts more consistent again. Thanks!
I first replaced the heater and fan but the roast was still running slow, around 20 minutes. After reading other reviews I decided to buy the motor. It was an easy replacement when I received it and the new motor fixed my roasts. It now takes 14-15 minutes and the flavor is back to what I had when I first bought my machine. Rebuilt machine for $150 in total. Great machine.
This motor was identical in form and function to its predecessor. It was an easy fix!
I know the motor is part of the triad required to get my 101 back in action. About 800-900 pounds of green beans roasted in this 101 I expect to have to replace parts with this kind of usage.
