Ceramic bearings used to rotate the chamber assembly.
These bearings replaced the old ones (have had this roaster for years and years). The original bearings had become flat on one side after hundreds of roasts, and these were perfect replacements. My only gripe is the shipping costs for my small parts were as much as the parts...That said, I love the fact that parts for the Gene Cafe are easily sourced for repairs!
We have a 2017 Gene Cafe Roaster. When replacing the OEM heating element, one of the ceramic bearings remained affixed to the rotating gear when it was removed and dropped on the shop floor, never to be seen again. Ordered and received a pair of ceramic bearings and used them both in completing the healing element replacement. The bearings had a nice snug fit. Roaster is back up and running. Now I just need to be more careful if I ever have to remove one of the two rotating gears!
While replacing the gear, which had cracked, causing some pretty bad noise, I replaced some bearings. 1 had a small flat spot, one had a kind of groove around the outer edge. I ordered 4 but should have gotten a couple more. Perfect fit, yay! My roaster is 10+ and I am thrilled to be able to get these parts. Thank you!
After roasting 1-2 times a week for over 6 years, these bearings are the only thing I’ve replaced(the original bearings were still functioning, but I noticed one had a small flat spot, so I decided to replace it). The roaster works well, but the ability to buy and easily replace parts is even better.
I needed to replace my motor and decided to also replace the left damper assembly. I noticed a few of my bearings were also pretty worn so I figured it would be foolish to not replace them while the roaster was apart. This was an easy repair and works just fine. Thanks!
