Updated on Aug 06, 2025

1. Before You Begin - Safety Review

⚠️ Read Before First Roast

  • Location: Use indoors, in a well-ventilated area (under a range hood or near an open window).
  • Surroundings: Keep away from curtains, walls, and anything flammable.
  • Never leave unattended while roasting or cooling.
  • Children & pets: Keep them clear of the roaster during operation.
  • Do not overfill — max 250g (½ lb) green beans; use less for dry-processed beans.
  • Cool down & unplug before cleaning or storing.

💡 Tip: Have a small tray or colander ready to cool beans after roasting.

2. Setup & Parts Check

Make sure all parts are included and clean:

  • Main Body (roaster)
  • Roasting Chamber (glass)
  • Chaff Collector (with filter)
  • Safety Cover
  • Chamber Stand (for loading/unloading)
  • Measuring Cup (100g)
  • Cleaning Brush

Setup Steps:

  1. Place the roaster on a stable, heat-resistant surface near ventilation.
  2. Ensure Chaff Collector is clean and securely attached to left side.
  3. Plug the roaster into a properly grounded outlet.

3. Loading Green Coffee Beans

  1. Open Safety Cover and remove the Roasting Chamber.
  2. Place chamber on Chamber Stand to protect the glass.
  3. Open chamber lid.
  4. Measure beans:
    1. Standard batch: 250g (washed beans)
    2. Dry-processed or peaberry: 200g max
  5. Check beans for stones or debris and remove.
  6. Close lid securely.
  7. Insert chamber into roaster with lid facing left, seated properly.
  8. Close the Safety Cover.

💡 Tip: Starting with a medium roast is easiest for new users — aim for ~15–17 min at 464°–482° F.

4. Roasting Process

Powering On & Settings

  1. Press Blue Timer Dial to turn on.
  2. Set Time (turn Blue Dial): 0–30 min (beginner: 15–17 min).
  3. Set Temperature (turn Red Temp Dial): Up to 482°F (beginner: 464°–482°F).

Start Roasting

  • Press Red Temp Dial to start.
  • Beans will rotate in the glass chamber.
  • Display alternates between current and set temperature.

During Roast

  • You may adjust time or temperature while roasting.
  • Watch for first crack (lighter roast) and second crack (darker roast).
  • Do not open the cover during roasting.

5. Cooling & Finishing

Automatic Cooling

  1. Cooling starts automatically at end of roast or if manually triggered.
  2. Chamber cools to ~140°F (~60°C) before stopping.

After Cooling

  • When beep sounds, open Safety Cover.
  • Carefully remove hot chamber (use oven mitts).
  • Pour beans into a tray or colander and spread for faster cooling.

💡 Tip: A small desk fan helps speed up cooling and locks in flavor.

6. Cleaning After Use

  • Let roaster cool fully.
  • Remove and empty Chaff Collector after every roast.
  • Wipe outside with a soft cloth (no water inside machine).
  • Clean Roasting Chamber periodically with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry completely.
